What is Central Sleep Apnea?

Central Sleep Apnea is a breathing disorder that causes your body to stop breathing during sleep.

It is different from obstructive sleep apnea because the problem is not caused by a blockage of the airway, it occurs because your brain doesn't send proper signal to the muscles that control your breathing.

Central sleep apnea is less common than obstructive sleep apnea. Central sleep apnea may occur as a result of other conditions, such as heart failure or stroke.
