CPAP Mask Diffusers

Replacement diffuser vents and exhaust ports for ResMed and Fisher & Paykel CPAP masks — the components that disperse exhaled air quietly and direct airflow away from bed partners. Diffusers are mask-specific; use the brand filter in the sidebar to find the correct part for your mask, or upload a photo of your mask if you need help with identification.

CPAP Mask Diffuser Guide

What's the difference between a diffuser and a QuietAir elbow?

Both serve the same purpose — dispersing exhaled air to reduce noise and direct airflow — but they're built into different components depending on the mask. On masks like the ResMed AirFit F20 and F30, the diffuser technology is built into the elbow itself as a mesh vent; replacing or upgrading the diffuser on these masks means buying a QuietAir elbow. On other masks — including the ResMed AirFit N30i, P30i, and select Fisher & Paykel models — the diffuser is a separate component that fits into a dedicated port on the frame, independent of the elbow. The products in this category are the standalone diffuser type. If you're unsure which applies to your mask, the brand filter or parts finder will clarify.

When should I replace my CPAP mask diffuser?

Diffuser vents can become partially blocked with skin oils, dust, and cleaning product residue over time, which increases exhalation resistance and can make the mask feel harder to breathe out against. Mould can also develop inside diffuser vents due to the warm, moist exhalation air that passes through them nightly — if you notice any discolouration, dark spots, or a musty smell that doesn't clear after cleaning, replacement is the safest course of action rather than continuing to use a contaminated component. If your mask has simply become noisier or exhalation feels more restricted than usual, check the diffuser first — a thorough rinse with warm water may be all that's needed. If blockage persists after cleaning or the vent mesh is visibly damaged or deformed, replace it. Our CPAP cleaning products can help maintain diffuser components between replacements.
