NightShift Sleep Positioner for Snoring & Sleep Apnea

NightShift is a clinically-proven positional therapy device made by Advanced Brain Monitoring in the USA, designed for snorers and people with positional obstructive sleep apnea (POSA) — a common form of sleep apnea where apnoeas are noticeably worse while sleeping on the back. Worn around the neck (or across the chest with the optional belt), the device gently vibrates whenever you roll onto your back, prompting you to return to your side without waking you up.

FDA-cleared for prescription use in adult POSA patients with a non-supine AHI under 20, NightShift can stand alone as a non-PAP therapy or be combined with CPAP to potentially reduce required pressures. The CPAP Club range includes the main device, the sleep positioner package with chest belt, and replacement neck straps and chest belts. All orders ship Australia-wide from our warehouse in Brisbane.

How NightShift Works

NightShift sits comfortably at the base of your neck on a soft silicone strap. After a 15-minute fall-asleep delay (so you can drift off in any position you like), the device activates Therapy Mode — and whenever it senses you roll onto your back, it produces a gentle vibration that gradually increases until you change position. The training effect is real: most users sleep on their side instinctively within a few weeks of consistent use.

A separate Monitor Mode records position, movement, and snoring through the night without vibrating — useful for baseline tracking or a sleep clinician review. Reports sync to the Night Shift mobile app (iOS and Android) and a web portal, so you can see sleep efficiency, time-in-position, and snoring trends over time.

Who NightShift Is For

NightShift is most effective for three groups:

 • People with positional sleep apnea (POSA) — where the apnoea-hypopnoea index is significantly higher supine than lateral. Around 70% of all OSA patients have a positional component.
 • Snorers whose snoring is primarily back-sleeping driven (your partner usually knows).
 • Existing CPAP users who want to combine therapies. Reducing supine time can sometimes lower the pressure your CPAP needs to deliver, which improves comfort.

NightShift is intended for adults only. If you suspect you have sleep apnoea, see your GP or a sleep specialist for a proper diagnosis before relying on positional therapy alone.

Is NightShift a CPAP Replacement?

For most people, no. CPAP remains the gold-standard treatment for moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnea. NightShift is best thought of either as a standalone option for mild positional OSA and primary snoring, or as a complementary therapy alongside CPAP — a decision to make with your sleep clinician based on your sleep study results. Frequently Asked Questions

Will the vibration wake me up?

The vibration starts very gently and only escalates if you don't roll off your back. Most users report rolling instinctively without ever fully waking. The 15-minute fall-asleep delay also lets you settle into your usual position before the device becomes active.

How long does the battery last?

A single charge typically powers the device for up to three nights of use. It charges via USB and uses a built-in rechargeable lithium battery.

Can I wear NightShift on my chest instead of my neck?

Yes — for users who find the neck strap uncomfortable, the device can be worn across the chest using the NightShift chest belt. The device package with chest belt bundles both for a saving.

Does NightShift make noise?

No — vibration is silent to a sleeping partner. There's no audible alarm or speaker, so it won't disturb anyone else in the room.
