About the Headgear

The Mirage FX headgear uses adjustable straps to keep the mask correctly positioned throughout the night. A well-fitting headgear is essential to achieving a reliable seal — without it, even a well-maintained cushion can allow air to escape. Worn or stretched straps are one of the most common causes of mask leak and disrupted therapy, making regular replacement an important part of your CPAP maintenance routine.

Care & Cleaning

Hand wash weekly in warm water using a mild liquid soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. Avoid bleach, chlorine, alcohol, and scented, moisturising or antibacterial soaps, as these can degrade the materials. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. When to Replace

Replace your Mirage FX headgear approximately every 12 months as a general guide, or sooner if you notice any of these signs: straps have stretched out, lost their shape, or no longer hold tension; visible fraying, pilling, or material breakdown; the mask is harder to fit securely or no longer maintains a good seal; or discoloration, staining, or odour that won't wash out. Like all CPAP consumables, headgear is a wear-and-tear item — keeping it in good condition is one of the simplest ways to protect your therapy outcomes.
