About the Headgear

The AirFit N20 Classic headgear features adjustable straps that let you dial in the fit across the top and back of the head. A well-fitting headgear is essential to a proper seal — over time, the straps and fabric naturally stretch and lose their elasticity, which is one of the most common causes of mask leak and broken sleep. Replacing the headgear restores that original tension and lets you get back to consistent, effective therapy.

Care & Cleaning

Hand wash weekly in warm water with a mild liquid soap. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water — do not wring. Air dry away from direct sunlight and heat. Do not use bleach, chlorine, alcohol, scented soaps, or moisturising or antibacterial soaps, and do not machine wash or tumble dry. Always refer to the ResMed user guide for full care instructions.

When to Replace

Plan to replace your headgear approximately every 12 months. Replace sooner if you notice any of the following: straps have stretched out and no longer hold their tension; visible fraying, pilling, or fabric breakdown; the mask is becoming harder to fit correctly or is no longer maintaining a reliable seal; or discolouration, staining, or odour that persists after cleaning. Headgear is a normal wear-and-tear consumable — keeping it fresh is one of the easiest ways to protect your therapy quality.
