No SD Card in Your New AirSense 10? Nothing's Missing

Unboxed a new AirSense 10 and found the SD card slot empty? Your order isn't short and your machine isn't faulty. From 1 July 2026, ResMed no longer includes an SD card with the AirSense 10 — bringing it into line with the AirSense 11, which were never supplied with one.

What happened

ResMed has stopped including SD cards with selected devices, starting with the AirSense 10 range, citing global supply chain cost pressures. Nothing about the machine or your therapy changes. The card is a data-storage accessory that sits in a slot on the side — it was never part of how your device treats your sleep apnea.

Why: memory got expensive

Blame AI. Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron — who make almost all the world's memory — have shifted production towards the high-bandwidth chips that AI data centres need. Those data centres now consume an estimated 70% of all memory chips made globally, leaving everyday memory in short supply.

The result: NAND flash, the type inside an SD card, rose roughly 60% in a single quarter in 2026, and analysts expect supply to stay tight for years. A card that was once a cheap throw-in simply isn't cheap any more. ResMed is far from alone — the same squeeze is pushing up prices on phones, laptops and PCs.

Do you need one?

For most people, no. Your AirSense 10 sends therapy data to your clinician wirelessly. The card was never doing that job.

You'll want one if you like reviewing your own detailed data at home — in software like OSCAR or SleepHQ — or if your sleep physician has asked you to bring the card to your appointments. A ResMed card stores up to a year of usage data, a month of detailed data and a week of high-resolution data.

We sell ResMed SD cards separately — the AirSense 11 card is suitable for AirSense 10 models as well. ResMed's own specification is an SDHC card, minimum 4GB (Class 2/4/6/10, UHS-I, V10) — cards from elsewhere can work, but only ResMed-supplied cards carry ResMed's performance guarantee and be careful on fake SD cards being sold particulary on marketplace sites like eBay and Amazon, purchase from reliable places such as Officeworks or JB Hi-Fi. If you're unsure which card suits your machine, just ask us before you buy.

The bottom line

Empty slot, complete machine. Your therapy is unchanged, and most people will never miss the card. If you're one of the few who uses it, we'll make sure you get the right one — just ask.
