CPAP Mask Parts Guide
How do I know which replacement part I need?
The most reliable way is to use the brand and model filter in the sidebar or the parts finder at the top of the page — both narrow results to parts confirmed compatible with your specific mask. If you don't know your mask model, check the underside of the frame or the inside of the headgear; most masks have the model name printed or moulded there. Failing that, the mask photo identification tool lets you upload an image for our team to identify. Getting the right part matters — cushions and headgear are not universally interchangeable even within the same brand, and ordering the wrong size is the most common purchasing mistake in this category.
How often should I replace my mask cushion and headgear?
For silicone cushions and seals — which covers the majority of masks from ResMed, Fisher & Paykel, and Philips — replacement every three to six months is the general guideline. The exception is fabric memory foam cushions, such as those on the ResMed AirTouch F20 and AirTouch N20, which should be replaced monthly as they absorb skin oils and degrade more quickly. Headgear typically lasts six to twelve months before the elastic stretches to the point where it can no longer maintain a reliable seal. Signs either component needs replacing include persistent air leaks despite correct fitting, visible cracking or yellowing, or new facial irritation around the seal area. For a full maintenance schedule, see our CPAP cleaning and care guide.
Are CPAP mask parts interchangeable between brands?
In almost all cases, no — mask parts are specific to the mask model they were designed for and are not interchangeable between brands, or in most cases even between different models from the same brand. A ResMed cushion will not fit a Fisher & Paykel frame, and parts should never be assumed compatible without confirming the model match. There are a small number of exceptions where manufacturers have designed shared cushion compatibility across related models within the same range — for example, the Philips DreamWear Under the Nose and DreamWear Pillow cushions are interchangeable with each other, as are the ResMed AirFit N30i and P30i cushions. But these are deliberate design choices within a product family, not a general rule. Always confirm compatibility with your specific mask model before purchasing — the parts finder and brand filters on this page are the most reliable way to do this.
