About the AdaptiSeal™ Cushion

The AirFit F40 uses ResMed's AdaptiSeal™ cushion — a fully-soft silicone design with no hard plastic components anywhere in the cushion structure. Unlike earlier full face masks that combine a silicone sealing surface with a rigid plastic frame, the F40's cushion is soft throughout, allowing it to adapt continuously to facial contours and movement during sleep. The under-the-nose sealing position keeps the nasal bridge completely free of contact, and the compact, low-profile frame makes the F40 one of the smallest full face masks available. All three cushion sizes fit the same universal F40 frame.

When to Replace

ResMed recommends replacing the AirFit F40 cushion every 6 months under normal use, or sooner if you notice increased leaks, visible silicone softening or discolouration, a tacky feel after cleaning, or persistent odour. Clean daily with mild soap and warm water or CPAP mask wipes, rinse thoroughly, and air dry away from direct sunlight.
