This is the genuine ResMed replacement QuietAir vent diffuser for the AirFit N30i, AirFit P30i, and AirTouch N30i CPAP Masks. The QuietAir vent allows exhaled air to escape during therapy, diffusing it softly away from the face and bed partner for quieter exhalation. Note that this is the woven-mesh QuietAir diffuser — it is distinct from a standard multi-hole exhalation vent and the two are not interchangeable.

About the QuietAir Vent

The QuietAir vent sits within the elbow connector at the top of the tube, where it meets the mask frame. Its fine woven-mesh construction disperses exhaled CO2 in multiple directions simultaneously, significantly reducing the noise and directed airflow that can disturb a sleeping partner. Because the vent is the sole pathway for exhaled air to exit the circuit, ResMed classifies it as a safety-critical component — the manufacturer's user guide requires that vent openings remain clean, unobstructed, and undamaged at all times during therapy.

When to Replace

Replacement of the QuietAir vent is damage-based rather than time-based. Inspect the vent regularly and replace it immediately if it appears cracked or deformed, or if any mesh openings are visibly blocked and cannot be cleared by cleaning. To clean, gently work a soft-bristle brush (such as a soft toothbrush) across the mesh surface, rinse thoroughly under warm running water, shake to remove excess water, and air dry away from direct sunlight before reassembling. If you use an AirTouch N30i, do not use a brush on the AirTouch cushion itself — only on the vent component.
