ResMed AirMini AutoSet Travel CPAP Machine

Device only

World's smallest CPAP — ResMed AirMini AutoSet. 300g, AutoSet and AutoSet for Her therapy, HumidX waterless humidification, FAA approved for in-flight use. Compatible mask and AirMini setup pack required — sold separately.

The ResMed AirMini is the world's smallest CPAP machine — weighing just 300 grams and small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. Designed for travellers who refuse to compromise on therapy quality, it delivers the same trusted AutoSet algorithm as ResMed's full-size bedside machines in a package that fits in a carry-on, a glove box, or a backpack side pocket. Important: The AirMini uses a specialised tube and connector system — standard CPAP tubing and masks are not compatible by default. To use the AirMini you need either: (a) a compatible ResMed mask and AirMini setup pack (see below), or (b) the AirMini Any Mask Kit which uses the ZephAir Universal CPAP Hose Connector to let you use virtually any standard CPAP mask — though this option does not support HumidX waterless humidification.

Why the AirMini Is Different

The AirMini isn't just a compact machine — it's a fundamentally different engineering solution to the problem of portable sleep apnea therapy. Despite its size, it offers three full therapy modes in the one device: AutoSet (automatic pressure adjustment), CPAP (fixed pressure), and AutoSet for Her (an adjusted algorithm tuned to female breathing patterns). To achieve its extraordinary size, ResMed developed the ActiveAir™ technology: a new tubing and elbow system with a built-in exhalation vent integrated directly into the tube connector, eliminating the need for a separate vent in the mask elbow. This is why standard CPAP tubing and masks don't work with the AirMini — the vent they rely on in a traditional bedside setup simply isn't present in the AirMini connector system. In return for this compatibility trade-off, users get a complete, clinically effective AutoSet CPAP device in a machine that almost fits in a shirt pocket.

Important — Getting Started

The AirMini cannot be used with standard CPAP tubing or masks out of the box. There are two ways to set it up:

  • Option A — AirMini Setup Pack + Compatible Mask (recommended for HumidX users): Purchase one of the five compatible ResMed masks below with its corresponding AirMini Setup Pack. This approach supports HumidX waterless humidification (mask-dependent) and gives you the most integrated AirMini experience
  • Option B — Any Mask Kit (for users who want to keep their existing mask): The AirMini Any Mask Kit uses the ZephAir Universal CPAP Hose Connector to make the AirMini compatible with virtually any standard CPAP mask via a standard 15mm or 22mm hose. No new mask purchase required. Note: HumidX waterless humidification is not available when using the ZephAir connector

Compatible Masks & Setup Packs

The AirMini is compatible with the following ResMed masks — each requires a specific setup pack:

Nasal Pillow Masks

Nasal Cradle Masks

Nasal Masks

Full Face Masks

If you are unsure which mask is right for you, contact the CPAP Club team before ordering — we can help you choose the right mask and setup pack for your therapy needs.

Using Your Existing Mask — The Any Mask Option

If you already own a CPAP mask and don't want to purchase a new one, the AirMini Any Mask Kit is the solution. It includes the ZephAir Universal CPAP Hose Connector and a ResMed Slimline Tube — snap the connector onto the AirMini's hose outlet, attach the tube, and use virtually any standard 22mm mask you already own.

HumidX not available: When using the ZephAir connector and a standard CPAP hose, HumidX waterless humidification is not available. The HumidX system relies on the AirMini's native elbow connector and is not compatible with the ZephAir setup. Users who need humidification should choose Option A — a compatible mask and setup pack.

Not recommended — overhead tube masks: Masks that route the tube up over the top of the head (such as the Philips DreamWear, ResMed AirFit P30i, ResMed AirFit N30i, and Philips DreamWisp) are not recommended with the ZephAir setup. The tube must travel from the AirMini at your bedside up and over your head, which creates significant air turbulence noise and places extra load on the AirMini's motor. Front and side tube masks only.

HumidX™ Waterless Humidification

One of the most innovative features of the AirMini is HumidX™ — a waterless humidification system that completely eliminates the need to carry water or a humidifier tank. The HumidX is a small, disposable heat and moisture exchanger (HME) capsule that sits in the mask elbow connector, between the tube and the mask. As you exhale, the HumidX captures the heat and moisture in your breath and stores it in tiny ridged chambers. On your next inhale, it releases this warmth and moisture back into the airflow — providing a level of humidification comparable to a bedside CPAP humidifier on a mid-range setting, without a single drop of water.

HumidX is available in two strengths:

  • HumidX (standard) — suitable for most Australian sleeping environments; replaces every 30 days after opening
  • HumidX Plus — designed for drier environments, high-altitude destinations, and in-flight use where cabin humidity is very low; replaces every 30 days after opening

HumidX compatibility by mask:

  • AirFit P10 for AirMini — HumidX and HumidX Plus compatible
  • AirFit N30 — HumidX and HumidX Plus compatible
  • AirFit N20 / AirTouch N20 — HumidX and HumidX Plus compatible
  • AirFit F20 / AirTouch F20 — HumidX F20 compatible (different version designed for full face use)
  • AirFit F30 — HumidX not compatible with the F30 connector system

Comfort Features

Despite its size, the AirMini includes the same comfort technology found in ResMed's full-size bedside machines:

  • AutoRamp with sleep onset detection — starts therapy at a low, comfortable pressure and gently increases to your prescribed level once it detects you are asleep; reduces the sensation of breathing against high pressure as you fall asleep
  • Expiratory Pressure Relief (EPR) — reduces the pressure delivered on each exhalation to make breathing feel more natural; adjustable from 1 to 3 (or off) via the AirMini app
  • SmartStart / SmartStop — therapy begins automatically when you breathe into the mask and pauses briefly when you remove it; no need to reach for a button in the dark
  • Three therapy modes — CPAP (fixed pressure), AutoSet (automatic pressure adjustment), and AutoSet for Her (adjusted algorithm tuned to female breathing patterns) — all in the one device

The AirMini App

The AirMini has no screen — settings and therapy data are managed entirely through the free AirMini smartphone app, available for iPhone and Android. The app connects to the machine via Bluetooth and allows you to start and stop therapy, adjust comfort settings (EPR, AutoRamp), view your nightly sleep score and therapy data, and access guided setup videos. The app is required for initial machine setup. Download from the App Store or Google Play before your first use.

ResMed AirMini vs AirSense 11 AutoSet — Which Should You Choose?

The AirMini and AirSense 11 AutoSet run the same clinically proven AutoSet therapy algorithm — the therapy itself is equivalent. The decision comes down entirely to how and where you sleep. Here is a direct comparison.

ResMed AirMini ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet
Weight 300 g 1,130 g (with HumidAir 11 tub)
Dimensions 132 × 79 × 55 mm 94.5 × 259.4 × 138.5 mm
Therapy modes AutoSet, CPAP, AutoSet for Her AutoSet, CPAP, AutoSet for Her
Humidification HumidX waterless cartridge — no water required HumidAir 11 heated water humidifier (included)
User interface No screen — app-controlled via Bluetooth Colour touchscreen + myAir app
Data connectivity Bluetooth only Bluetooth + 4G cellular (Australian networks)
Mask compatibility AirMini setup packs or Any Mask Kit required Any standard CPAP mask (22mm)
FAA approved for in-flight use Yes Yes (water tank must be empty during flight)
Best suited for Travel, camping, caravans, aviation, minimalists Primary bedside use at home

Rule of thumb: If you travel regularly or want a single compact device that goes everywhere with you, the AirMini is the right choice. If you primarily sleep at home and want the most comfortable humidification and broadest mask compatibility, the AirSense 11 AutoSet will suit you better.

Can I Use the ResMed AirMini as My Only CPAP Machine?

Yes — many patients use the AirMini as their sole CPAP device, and it is fully capable of delivering effective, long-term sleep apnea therapy. The therapy algorithm is identical to ResMed's full-size bedside machines, and all standard comfort features (AutoRamp, EPR, SmartStart) are included. There are, however, a few practical trade-offs to know before committing:

  • Humidification: HumidX provides waterless humidification that suits most users well. Those who require high humidity levels — particularly people with nasal congestion, dry climates, or sensitivity to dry air — may find a heated water humidifier (as in the AirSense 11) more satisfying for nightly home use. HumidX Plus (sold separately) provides higher moisture output for drier conditions.
  • Mask choice: The AirMini's specialised connector system means you need either an AirMini setup pack with a compatible ResMed mask, or the AirMini Any Mask Kit to use your existing mask. If you want the flexibility to switch masks freely without buying new connectors, a full-size machine is more convenient.
  • No screen: Settings and therapy data are managed through the AirMini smartphone app. If you prefer on-device controls, the AirSense 11 AutoSet's colour touchscreen is the better fit.

For frequent travellers, caravan users, aviation professionals, and anyone who values a minimal bedside setup, the AirMini is an excellent primary machine. If you are predominantly home-based, the AirSense 11 AutoSet or AirSense 11 Elite will be more comfortable as a daily driver. Not sure which suits you? Ask the CPAP Club team — we can help you choose based on your lifestyle and prescription.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. The AirMini delivers clinically effective AutoSet therapy and is fully suitable as a primary CPAP machine. Trade-offs include waterless HumidX humidification (rather than a heated water humidifier), app-only control via Bluetooth (no screen), and a specialised mask connector system. Most travellers and users who prefer minimal bedside equipment find it an excellent primary machine; those requiring high humidity levels or broad mask compatibility may prefer the ResMed AirSense 11 AutoSet for home use.

Both use the same AutoSet therapy algorithm. The AirMini weighs 300g vs the AirSense 11's 1,130g, uses waterless HumidX humidification instead of a heated water humidifier, has no screen (app-controlled only via Bluetooth), and requires a specialised mask connector. The AirSense 11 has a colour touchscreen, 4G cellular data connectivity, an integrated heated water humidifier, and works with any standard CPAP mask. Choose the AirMini for travel and portability; choose the AirSense 11 for primary home therapy.

Yes. The ResMed AirMini is FAA approved for use during flight. Most airlines permit CPAP devices as carry-on medical equipment — confirm with your airline before travel. HumidX waterless humidification works in-flight as no liquid water is required. The AirMini's power supply accepts 100–240V for international use.

The AirMini requires a specialised connector and is compatible with these ResMed masks (each needing the corresponding setup pack): AirFit P10, AirFit N30, AirFit N20, AirTouch N20, AirFit F20, AirTouch F20, and AirFit F30. The AirMini Any Mask Kit (ZephAir Universal Connector) allows use with virtually any standard CPAP mask, though HumidX humidification is not available in that configuration.

HumidX is a small, disposable heat and moisture exchanger that clips into the AirMini mask connector. As you exhale, it captures warmth and moisture; on each inhale, it returns that moisture — providing waterless humidification with no tank required. Whether you need it depends on comfort: users sensitive to dry air benefit from HumidX; those who already use CPAP without humidification may not need it. Each cartridge lasts approximately 30 days. HumidX Plus provides higher moisture output for drier environments.

AirMini Starter Kits — Machine + Mask in One Bundle

If you haven't yet chosen a mask, the AirMini Starter Kits bundle the machine, the setup pack, and a compatible mask together at a lower combined price than purchasing each component separately. Four bundles are available based on mask type — each includes the AirMini machine, the corresponding setup pack, and the selected mask in your chosen size:

All four starter kits are parent products with selectable child options — choose your mask size and preferred mask variant from the options on each kit page.

The AirMini is built for life on the move:

  • Universal power supply — the included 20W adapter accepts 100–240V, 50/60Hz — compatible with Australian and international power outlets without a voltage converter
  • FAA approved for in-flight use — the AirMini can be used during flights when power is available; activate airplane mode through the AirMini app before departure (refer to the user guide for instructions)
  • Hard travel case included — the AirMini hard travel case (38841) is included with the machine; protects the machine body during transit. Note: the case fits the machine only — accessories must be packed separately
  • Premium travel bag available separately — the AirMini Premium Travel Bag (38840) carries the machine, power supply, mask, tubing, and accessories together in one organised bag
  • Bedside mount available separately — the AirMini Mount System (38842) includes Mattress, Hook and Wall modules for secure bedside placement at home, in hotels, or in vehicles
  • No built-in battery — the AirMini requires an AC power source or an external compatible battery (available separately)

Who Is This For?

The AirMini is ideal for regular travellers who currently use a bedside CPAP machine and need a genuinely compact second device for travel — not a compromise solution, but a machine that delivers the same AutoSet therapy in a package that clears carry-on restrictions and fits neatly in luggage. It's equally well suited to FIFO workers (fly-in fly-out) who need reliable therapy at remote mine sites, work camps, or anywhere they can't take their full-size machine. It's also a practical choice as a primary machine for users who want the smallest possible bedside footprint, or who have limited nightstand space. If you already know which mask you'd like and want the best value, the AirMini Starter Kits bundle the machine, setup pack and mask together at a lower combined price than buying each item separately. Users who want to continue using their existing mask should look at the AirMini Any Mask Kit — keeping in mind that HumidX humidification is not available in that configuration. If you're unsure which option best suits your needs, contact the CPAP Club team and we'll help you find the right setup.
