How HumidX Plus Works

HumidX Plus is a heat-and-moisture exchanger — a small disc made of layered paper ridges that captures heat and moisture from your exhaled breath as it passes through. When you inhale, the warm humidified air is released back, softening the dry pressurised air coming from the AirMini. The "Plus" version uses denser paper ridges than the standard HumidX, which allows it to retain more moisture per breath — important in dry-air environments where the standard version's lighter ridge density may not capture enough humidity to keep your airway comfortable.

Standard or Plus — Which HumidX?

The standard HumidX is the right pick for everyday use in typical Australian homes and moderate climates. HumidX Plus (this product) is worth the upgrade when:

  • You're flying — aircraft cabins are extremely dry (typically 10–20% humidity)
  • You're travelling to high altitude (3,000m+) where the air is significantly drier
  • You're in an arid environment — desert regions, inland Australia in summer, dry winter air in heated bedrooms

The AirFit F30 has no HumidX option at all.

Replacement Schedule

Each HumidX Plus disc lasts 30 days once opened — regardless of whether you've used it every night or only on travel days. The paper ridges absorb moisture over time and lose effectiveness whether you're using the disc daily or not. The 3-pack covers roughly 3 months of replacement; the 6-pack covers 6 months. Replace immediately if the disc has been exposed to liquids, visible debris, or significant moisture.

Important — Do Not Wash

HumidX Plus is disposable, not washable. Attempting to wash, rinse, or submerge the disc destroys the paper-ridge structure and makes it unusable. Keep it dry and away from heat or direct sunlight when not in use. Replace on schedule rather than try to clean.
