Lowenstein Prisma HYBERNITE Superday Heated Breathing Tube Kit

The Lowenstein PrismaHYBERNITE Superday is a 22 mm heated breathing tube that prevents rainout and reduces mask noise. Unlike most CPAP heated tubes, it has its own dedicated power supply — so it works on CPAP machines that don't have an integrated heated-tube port. Designed specifically for the Lowenstein Prisma SMART and Prisma SOFT range, it's also a universal heated-tube solution for almost any CPAP machine when paired with a humidifier.

How It Works

Most CPAP heated tubes draw power from a dedicated port on the host machine — but the Prisma SMART, Prisma SOFT, SOMNOsoft, SOMNObalance, and many other CPAP models don't have that port. The Superday solves this with its own mains-powered supply: connect the tube to your machine using the standard 22 mm cuff connection, plug the power supply into the wall, and the tube heats itself independently. The PowerPal switch on the cord lets you flick the heating on or off without unplugging anything.

Compatibility

Designed for the Lowenstein Prisma SMART Max, Prisma SOFT Max, Prisma 25ST, and SOMNO series. Also universally compatible with any CPAP or BiLevel machine using a standard 22 mm cuff connection — provided you're using a humidifier alongside it.

Not for the Prisma 20A. The Prisma 20A has an integrated heated-tube port and uses the 15 mm PrismaHYBERNITE Slimline heated tube instead, which powers directly from the device.

Always Pair with a Humidifier

This heated tube must be used with a humidifier. Heating dry air doesn't deliver any therapeutic benefit, and the tube isn't designed to be run without humidification. If you don't currently use a humidifier, you'll need to add the matched PrismaAQUA humidifier or a compatible alternative before this tube becomes useful. Hose wraps should also not be used with this tube — they interfere with the heating element.

Heated or Non-Heated?

If you don't experience rainout and you're after a simpler, lighter setup, the Lowenstein Prisma 22 mm non-heated tube is the lower-cost alternative. The Superday is the right choice when condensation, rainout, or moisture-related mask noise is consistently disrupting your therapy.

Cleaning & Care

Wipe the tube down weekly with a damp cloth and a mild detergent. Do not fully submerge or autoclave — the tube wall contains electrical heating components. Air-dry out of direct sunlight before reconnecting power.

When to Replace

Replace the tube every 6 to 12 months as part of standard maintenance, or sooner if you notice cracks, holes, persistent odour, visible internal build-up, or any inconsistency in the heating performance. Replacement-only tubes (without the power supply) are available separately for users who already own a working Superday power unit.
