Lowenstein Standard Breathing Tube 15mm

The Lowenstein Standard Breathing Tube 15 mm (WM29988) is the genuine non-heated slim tube for the Lowenstein PrismaLINE range — and it's the tube the Prisma SMART Max, Prisma SOFT Max, Prisma SMART Plus, and Prisma SOFT Plus all ship with as standard equipment. The 15 mm slim diameter makes it lighter and less obtrusive than older 22 mm standard tubes, and the universal 22 mm cuffed ends connect to any standard CPAP mask.

Compatibility

This is the standard supplied tube for the Lowenstein Prisma SMART Max, Prisma SOFT Max, Prisma SMART Plus, and Prisma SOFT Plus. It's also compatible with the Prisma 20A — which ships with the integrated 15 mm heated tube as default but can use this as a non-heated alternative — and any other CPAP or BiLevel machine that supports a 15 mm slim-tube setting.

Check your machine's tube setting. Modern CPAP machines have a tube-diameter setting in the menu (15 mm or 22 mm); for accurate pressure delivery, the setting must match the tube you're using. Most newer machines support both — older machines may be 22 mm only.

15 mm or 22 mm — Which Tube?

The 15 mm slim tube (this product) is the modern default — lighter, less rigid, and the standard for most CPAP machines manufactured in the past several years. If your machine doesn't have a 15 mm tube setting, or you're replacing a 22 mm tube on an older machine, the Lowenstein 22 mm non-heated tube is the right choice instead.

Heated or Non-Heated?

This tube is non-heated. If you experience rainout or condensation, heated alternatives are available:

• For the Prisma 20A: the integrated 15 mm PrismaHYBERNITE Slimline heated tube — powers from the device itself.
• For the Prisma SMART and SOFT range: the externally-powered PrismaHYBERNITE Superday kit — comes with its own power supply.

Cleaning & Care

Wash the tube weekly in warm water with a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and air-dry out of direct sunlight. The tube is not autoclavable and should not be exposed to harsh chemicals or high heat.

When to Replace

Replace your CPAP tubing every 6 to 12 months as part of standard maintenance. Replace earlier if you notice cracks, holes, persistent odour, or visible build-up inside the tube that can't be cleaned out.
