Select a Mask — choose one

BMC G3 X A20 auto CPAP machine with your choice of nasal mask and machine colour (black or white). Includes 360 mL humidifier, heated tubing and 4G modem — a light, comfortable way to start CPAP therapy.

The BMC G3 X A20 Auto CPAP Machine with Nasal Mask puts BMC's newest auto CPAP and the nasal mask of your choice into one kit, ready to set up the night it arrives. You choose the machine colour (black or white) and the mask. A nasal mask is the most popular way to start CPAP: it is smaller than a full face mask, and it suits most people who breathe comfortably through their nose.

Why Buy the G3 X as a Package?

  • Everything to start therapy in one order: machine, humidifier, heated tubing and mask arrive together.
  • Your choice of colour: black and white are the same machine with identical features and settings, so the choice comes down to how it looks on your bedside table.
  • Your choice of mask: you pick the nasal mask that suits your face and the way you sleep, rather than taking whichever mask happens to come in the box.
  • One invoice for machine and mask, which keeps things simple if you are claiming through private health insurance, NDIS or DVA. Check your eligibility with your fund or plan first.

About the BMC G3 X

The G3 X is the newer generation of BMC's G3 A20 auto CPAP. Full details are on the BMC G3 X auto CPAP machine page. In short:

  • Auto pressure: works between your set minimum and maximum (within 4–20 cmH₂O), lifting pressure when your airway starts to narrow. A Soft, Standard or Fast Pressure Response setting controls how quickly it reacts.
  • SmartA (optional): chooses a starting pressure after the ramp based on your last five nights of effective therapy, and gradually refines your pressure limits.
  • 360 mL humidifier with heated tubing: warm, moist air helps prevent the dry, stuffy nose that can make nasal masks hard work, and the heated tube cuts down on condensation in the hose.
  • RESlex exhalation relief: three levels that ease the pressure slightly as you breathe out.
  • Quiet and hands-free: 28 ± 2 dB(A), with pre-heating, Auto On, Auto Ramp and Auto Off.
  • 4G modem included: sends your therapy data to BMC's PAPLink portal without Wi-Fi, and you can see your own results in the free PAP Link app.

Choosing Your Nasal Mask

The nasal masks in this package fall into two groups. Deciding which group suits you is the quickest way to narrow the list.

Over-the-nose nasal masks

The cushion covers your nose, sitting on the bridge and around the nostrils. This traditional style holds a dependable seal across a wide range of nose shapes and pressures. Options include the ResMed AirFit N20, AirFit N20 for Her, AirFit N20 Classic and AirTouch N20 (memory foam cushion), and the Fisher & Paykel Eson 2, Nova Nasal and Solo Nasal.

Under-the-nose (cradle) masks

A small cushion cradles the base of your nose and leaves the bridge clear, so there are no marks there, and you can wear glasses or read in bed. Options include the ResMed AirFit N30, AirFit N30i and AirTouch N30i, and the Philips DreamWear Under the Nose.

If you sleep on your side or stomach, or move a lot, the AirFit N30i, AirTouch N30i and DreamWear Under the Nose connect the tube at the top of your head, keeping it off your pillow. The F&P Nova Nasal has an optional clip that does the same. If you have sensitive skin or get pressure marks, the AirTouch masks use a soft memory foam cushion, though foam needs replacing more often than silicone. If you're unsure of your size, the Solo Nasal Fit Pack and DreamWear Under the Nose Fitpack include more than one size. Our guide to choosing the right CPAP mask covers fitting in more detail, or you can browse all nasal CPAP masks individually.

Important — Magnetic Components: The ResMed AirFit N20, AirFit N20 for Her and AirTouch N20 options use magnetic headgear clips. Magnetic masks are not suitable for anyone with certain implanted medical devices or metallic implants, including bed partners. Check the mask's user guide and talk to your doctor before choosing one. The AirFit N20 Classic uses the same cushion without magnets, and the other masks in this package are also magnet-free.

Who Is This For?

This package suits adults with obstructive sleep apnea who breathe through their nose during sleep and want a mask that feels lighter and less intrusive than full face. It is a strong all-round choice for first-time CPAP users who want auto pressure, heated humidification and remote data sharing at a sensible price. You can also compare other auto CPAP packages to see how the G3 X stacks up.

A nasal mask won't suit you if you mostly breathe through your mouth or your nose is blocked most nights. In that case the G3 X with full face mask is the safer choice. If you want the smallest possible mask, look at the G3 X with pillow mask. If you already own a mask that works for you, the machine on its own is better value. The G3 X is designed for obstructive sleep apnea; if you have central sleep apnoea or have been prescribed bilevel or ASV therapy, speak with your sleep physician first.

Frequently Asked Questions

It's common, especially in the first few weeks. When your mouth opens, air escapes, which can cause a dry mouth, a noisy leak and less effective therapy. Many people find it settles as they get used to CPAP. A CPAP chin strap can help keep your mouth closed. If you regularly wake with a very dry mouth, or your therapy data shows high leak, a full face mask may suit you better.

A mildly stuffy nose is often fine, and warm humidified air can help it clear. Turning the humidity up a level may make it easier to breathe. If your nose is fully blocked you won't get effective therapy through a nasal mask. Some people keep a spare full face mask for those nights. If congestion is ongoing rather than occasional, speak with your GP, as it may need treating in its own right.

No. Both colours are the same G3 X A20 machine with the same pressure range, humidifier, heated tubing, 4G modem, accessories and warranty. The only difference is how it looks. Replacement parts such as water chambers and filters fit either colour.

Looser than most people expect. Overtightening squashes the cushion, which often causes more leaks along with red marks on the bridge of your nose. Put the mask on with the machine running, lie in your usual sleeping position, and tighten the straps only until the leak stops. If you can't stop a leak without overtightening, try another cushion size. If you're still having trouble, contact our team.

You don't need a prescription to buy an auto CPAP machine in Australia. We do strongly recommend a sleep study first, so you know you have obstructive sleep apnea and your sleep physician can recommend the pressure range to set. The G3 X adjusts within the limits you set, so a sleep study report gives you a sound starting point.

Yes. The G3 X works with standard nasal, nasal pillow and full face masks from the major brands, so the mask you choose now doesn't lock you in. Masks are also sold separately if you'd like a spare or want to try a different style.
