About the Backstrap

The backstrap is a key part of the Evora Nasal's fit system, connecting at the rear of the head to balance and stabilise the mask. Over time, the elastic can stretch or the material can show signs of wear, which affects how well the mask sits on your face. A fresh backstrap restores proper tension and helps prevent the leaks and discomfort that come with a poorly fitted mask.

Care & Cleaning

Hand wash weekly in warm water with a mild liquid soap. Rinse thoroughly and squeeze out excess water — do not wring. Air dry away from direct sunlight. Avoid bleach, chlorine, alcohol, and scented, moisturising, or antibacterial soaps, and do not machine wash or tumble dry. Always refer to the Fisher & Paykel user guide for full care instructions.

When to Replace

Replace the backstrap approximately every 12 months, or sooner if the elastic has stretched and lost tension, the strap no longer holds the mask in position, you notice fraying or material breakdown, or if the mask has become increasingly difficult to seal. Keeping the backstrap in good condition is one of the simplest ways to maintain effective, comfortable therapy.
