Kingon P2-E6 Portable Oxygen Concentrator

Prescription Required

The Kingon P2-E6 is a 1.98kg pulse dose portable oxygen concentrator delivering up to 1,200 ml/min across six flow settings, with 90% oxygen concentration at every one. Two batteries, AC and DC chargers included. ARTG listed and airline approved.

The Kingon P2-E6 is the middle model in Kingon's ultra-light P2-E range: the same 1.98kg body as the P2-E, with a sixth flow setting and a maximum pulse output of 1,200 ml/min — approximately equivalent to 6 LPM. It exists for one reason, and it is worth being clear about it. If your prescribed setting is comfortably within the P2-E's range and unlikely to change, you do not need this device. If you have been told your requirement may rise, or your oxygen needs climb when you are on your feet, the extra setting is the headroom that keeps one purchase serving you.

Why a Sixth Setting Matters

Oxygen requirements are rarely a single fixed number. Many people are comfortable at a lower setting sitting down and need more when they are walking, carrying shopping, climbing stairs or managing a slope. If your prescriber has set you near the top of a five-setting device, you have no room left for the moments that demand most of you — and those are usually the moments that matter, because they are the ones that keep you independent.

The P2-E6 gives you that room in the same 22.1 × 8.5 × 16 cm body, at the same 1.98kg, at the same 37 dB(A) on setting 2. You are not carrying more or hearing more. You simply have a ceiling you can reach for when you need it.

Confirm your setting for this device specifically

Flow settings are not interchangeable between models. A number written on a prescription for one concentrator does not necessarily deliver the same dose on another, and pulse settings are not litres per minute — setting 3 does not mean 3 LPM. Have your prescriber confirm the correct setting for the P2-E6, and verify it with a pulse oximeter at rest and during your normal activity.

Key Features

  • 1,200 ml/min maximum pulse output — approximately equivalent to 6 LPM, across six flow settings.
  • 90% oxygen concentration (−3% / +6%) at all six settings — the concentration holds as you move up the range.
  • 1.98kg including the battery — identical to the P2-E, worn at your hip on the included shoulder strap.
  • 37 dB(A) at setting 2 — quiet enough for a cinema, a waiting room or a bedroom.
  • Two 6,800 mAh lithium-ion batteries included — swappable in seconds, recharging in roughly four hours from AC or the car.
  • Smart breath detection — delivers a precise bolus at the start of each inhale and synchronises with your breathing. If no breath is detected it pulses automatically every three seconds.
  • Triple filtration and a modular sieve bed — designed for replacement rather than a return to the workshop.
  • 24+ alarm types — including low battery, low oxygen concentration and no breath detected.

Battery Life, and the Trade-Off Nobody Mentions

Higher output costs runtime. That is worth understanding before you choose, because it is the part of this decision most retailers leave out.

Flow setting Approximate duration (one battery) With both batteries
1 5 hours 24 minutes ~10 hours 48 minutes
2 4 hours 30 minutes ~9 hours
3 3 hours 18 minutes ~6 hours 36 minutes
4 2 hours 30 minutes ~5 hours
5 2 hours 6 minutes ~4 hours 12 minutes
6 1 hour 42 minutes ~3 hours 24 minutes

Here is the honest version: all three of these models give you roughly 1 hour 42 minutes per battery on their top setting — the P2-E on setting 5, the P2-E6 on setting 6, the P2-E7 on setting 7. Stepping up does not buy you a longer day at maximum output. It buys a higher ceiling, and reaching for that ceiling costs runtime. Choose the model your prescription needs, not the biggest number available.

Both an AC supply for the wall and a DC supply for the car are included, so you can run and charge on a long drive. Our guide to travelling with CPAP and oxygen equipment covers the same power planning questions.

Kingon P2-E, P2-E6 and P2-E7 Compared

All three share the same 22.1 × 8.5 × 16 cm dimensions, the same 1.98kg weight and the same 37 dB(A) noise level at setting 2. Only the output and the number of settings change.

  P2-E P2-E6 P2-E7
Maximum pulse output 1,000 ml/min 1,200 ml/min 1,400 ml/min
Approx. LPM equivalent 5 LPM 6 LPM 7 LPM
Flow settings 1–5 1–6 1–7

Battery life, top setting 1h 42min 1h 42min 1h 42min
Weight with battery 1.98 kg 1.98 kg 1.98 kg

If your prescription sits comfortably within five settings, the Kingon P2-E is the sensible choice. If you need the highest pulse output in the range, look at the Kingon P2-E7.

Important: Pulse Dose Oxygen and Sleep Apnea

A portable oxygen concentrator is not a CPAP machine and does not treat sleep apnea. CPAP holds your airway open; an oxygen concentrator raises the oxygen content of the air you breathe. One does not substitute for the other.

The P2-E6 is a pulse dose device, releasing oxygen only when it senses you inhale. Because breathing becomes shallow and irregular during sleep, pulse dose delivery is generally not prescribed for overnight use — continuous flow is. Do not use the P2-E6 for sleep unless your prescriber has specifically advised it.

The P2-E6 cannot be used to add oxygen to CPAP therapy — no pulse dose concentrator can. The device delivers only when its sensor detects you drawing breath, and inside a pressurised CPAP circuit there is no breath for it to detect. Adding oxygen to CPAP requires a continuous flow source, joined to the circuit through an oxygen port or enrichment adapter. A continuous flow model is coming to our range shortly — call 1300 992 727 and we will let you know when it lands.

Who Is This For?

The P2-E6 suits someone whose oxygen requirement is mid-range and may not stay there — often people managing a progressive respiratory condition, or anyone whose saturation drops noticeably on exertion while sitting comfortably at a lower setting. It also makes sense if you are choosing your first concentrator and your prescriber has indicated your needs are likely to increase, since the extra headroom costs far less now than replacing the device later.

It is not the right device if you have been prescribed continuous flow, if you need oxygen while you sleep, or if you cannot tolerate a nasal cannula. Speak to us before ordering in any of those cases.

Using Oxygen Safely at Home

Oxygen itself does not burn, but it makes everything around it burn faster and hotter — clothing, bedding, hair, even skin that oxygen has soaked into. The precautions are about the room rather than the machine: three metres between the concentrator and any flame, no candles, smoking or vapes, water-based products only on your face and hands, and nothing covering the intake or vents.

One thing worth doing before your machine even arrives: ring your electricity retailer and register as a life support customer. It is free, it protects your supply from disconnection, it entitles you to written notice of any planned outage, and rebates are available in New South Wales, Victoria and the ACT.

Our full guide to using oxygen safely at home covers fire precautions, electrical rules, blackout planning and what to tell emergency services. A printed copy comes in the box with every concentrator we send.

Warranty and Australian Support

The P2-E6 carries a three-year standard warranty, extendable to five years free of charge when you register the device with Kingon within 14 days of purchase. The battery and sieve bed are covered for 12 months. Kingon maintains a national Australian support network, so servicing does not mean shipping your device overseas.

The P2-E6 reports faults as numbered alert codes on its display. If you need to look one up, our Kingon P2-E alert codes guide lists all 23 — what each means, whether the unit will shut itself down, and what to do about it.

Oxygen is a prescription therapy

Supplemental oxygen must only be used in line with a prescription from a qualified medical practitioner. Confirm with your prescriber that a pulse dose device suits your requirements, and have your setting verified with an oximeter across your normal range of activity.
