About the Dual-Wall Spring Air™ Cushion

The Mirage FX uses ResMed's Dual-Wall Spring Air™ nasal cushion — the same core technology that underpins the AirFit N20's InfinitySeal cushion. The dual-wall design allows the inner wall to flex independently of the outer wall, creating a gentle, spring-like seal that adapts to facial movement and pressure changes during sleep without requiring the headgear to be worn tight. A softened nasal bridge contact area distributes pressure more evenly across the nose, reducing the nasal bridge marks that firmer single-wall cushions can cause after a full night of therapy.

When to Replace

ResMed recommends replacing the Mirage FX cushion every 6 months under normal use, or sooner if you notice increased leaks, visible silicone softening or discolouration, a tacky feel after cleaning, or any reduction in seal quality. Clean daily with mild soap and warm water or CPAP mask wipes, rinse thoroughly, and air dry away from direct sunlight. If you are considering upgrading to a current-generation nasal mask, the ResMed AirFit N20 is the current successor to the Mirage FX range.
