About the Headgear

The BMC P2 headgear features adjustable straps that let you dial in the right tension for your head shape and sleeping position. A well-fitting headgear is essential for keeping the mask sealed throughout the night — even small shifts during sleep can lead to air leaks that disrupt therapy. Over time, elastic and fabric naturally stretch and lose their original tension, and worn headgear is one of the most common causes of mask leak in long-term CPAP users. Replacing it regularly keeps your therapy performing as it should.

Care & Cleaning

Hand wash the headgear weekly in warm water using a mild liquid soap. Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue. Do not use bleach, chlorine, alcohol, scented soaps, or moisturising or antibacterial soaps, as these can degrade the materials. Do not machine wash or tumble dry. When to Replace

Plan to replace your headgear approximately every 12 months as part of your regular CPAP maintenance routine. Replace sooner if you notice the straps have stretched out or no longer hold tension, visible fraying or material breakdown, difficulty achieving a good mask fit, or discolouration, staining, or odour that persists after cleaning. Keeping up with headgear replacement is a straightforward way to protect your therapy results.
